Triple-effect Forced Circulation Evaporator for Cobaltous Sulfate Recovery

A triple-effect forced circulation evaporator system is developed for cobaltous sulfate recovery from battery recycling wastewater.

The system concentrates cobaltous sulfate-containing desulfurization liquor to supersaturation, followed by centrifugation for crystal recovery.

With advanced forced circulation evaporation technology, the system provides efficient salt recovery, reduced wastewater discharge, and reliable continuous operation for battery recycling applications.

Equipment: Triple-effect forced circulation evaporator;

Application: Waste battery recycling;

Main Feed composition: Cobaltous Sulfate;

Construction Material:TA2 for wetted parts while SS316L or carbons steel for non wetted parts.

Description

Project Overview

With the rapid development of the battery recycling industry, efficient treatment and resource recovery from waste battery wastewater have become increasingly important.

During waste battery recycling, sulfate-containing wastewater containing valuable metals such as cobalt, nickel, and manganese is generated. Due to its complex composition and high salt concentration, efficient treatment and resource recovery require advanced separation technologies.

A triple-effect forced circulation evaporator system is applied in this project for cobaltous sulfate recovery, concentrating the desulfurization liquor to a supersaturated state and enabling subsequent crystallization and separation of cobaltous sulfate products. The system achieves wastewater reduction, resource recovery, and improved process economics.

Process Technology   

A triple-effect forced circulation evaporator is adopted to concentrate the cobaltous sulfate-containing desulfurization liquor to a supersaturated state.

After reaching supersaturation, the concentrated slurry enters a centrifuge for solid-liquid separation. The recovered cobaltous sulfate crystals can be collected as a valuable product or recycled for further utilization, while the separated mother liquor is returned to the evaporator system for further concentration, forming a continuous circulation process. 

This process effectively enhances cobalt resource recovery, reduces wastewater discharge, and improves overall process efficiency.
